This comprehensive financial planning course addresses the unique planning needs of the older client. All of the essential topics are covered, with particular emphasis on retirement planning, estate planning, and insurance planning.
Retirement subjects include Social Security, Medicare (including prescription drug coverage under Part D), Medicaid, IRAs, annuities, and general investment options.
Estate planning topics include trusts, taxation, charitable giving, small business/family farms, and incapacity planning.
Insurance topics include life insurance, long-term care insurance, and Medigap.
In addition, the overall planning process, legislation, health care, the family home, and nursing homes/assisted living are covered, all from an elder-care perspective.
Included throughout the text are helpful planning tips and examples, and there is a separate chapter containing case studies to aid in the learning process.
