Company History
Beacon Hill Financial Educators, Inc. was founded in 1994 to fill the need for high-quality continuing education courses offered in a convenient and cost-effective way to financial professionals. The company's first course was the Ethics Workshop, a live seminar covering CFP Board's Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibilities. This well-received workshop was subsequently used as a basis for Beacon Hill's best-selling CFP Board Ethics self-study course. The success of the Ethics Workshop and the CFP Board Ethics self-study course lead to other course offerings covering the major financial planning and accounting topic-areas.
In 2000, Beacon Hill launched the Course-in-a-Book® series based on the idea that popular industry trade books could be adopted for self-study. The goal was to give customers the opportunity to purchase the works of well-known industry authors and receive continuing education credit by studying the material in self-study course format.
In 2003, Beacon Hill began offering courses that carried both CFP® and CPA credit for financial practitioners who are also practicing accountants. Beacon Hill currently has courses in all the major topic areas relevant to the financial planning and accounting professions. Beacon Hill also offers IRS-approved CE courses to Enrolled Agents, Registered Tax Return Preparers, and Enrolled Retirement Plan Agents.
Beacon Hill Financial Educators is a registered sponsor of the CFP Board, the National Registry of CPE Sponsors (of the National Association of State Boards of Accountancy) and the Internal Revenue Service (IRS). Our courses are also accepted by the National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA), the Association of Divorce Financial Planners (ADFP) the American College of Financial Services, Professional Achievement in Continuing Education (PACE ChFC/CLU), and the Investment Management Consultants Association® (IMCA).
